Erin Gorton, Security Officer
“I'm fresh out of school and have a lot of ideas about the future. It seems like there's a lot of opportunity to advance.”
Growing up with a father and step-mother who worked for the local sheriff department, Erin Gorton knew she always wanted to follow in their footsteps and work in the security field.
After she graduated from college with a degree in Criminal Justice, she applied at AlliedBarton.
Erin says she enjoys helping people. Whether she's answering questions, evacuating employees when a propane tank leaked, or calling the ambulance for an employee who fell, Erin plays an important role in keeping employees and visitors safe.
Jewel Fisher, Site Supervisor
“Working in a university setting is different from other sites since mothers and fathers depend on us to keep their children safe.”
After retiring from the Air Force, Jewel Fisher wasn't sure what her next step would be.
First, she worked in a hospital lab. Then, she tried a sales job. Neither were a good match.
A friend suggested she apply at AlledBarton for a position as a part-time security officer. That was seven years and two promotions ago.
Jewel enjoys working in a university setting. "One student thanked security in her graduation speech and parents have called saying they are so grateful that we've helped their sons and daughters," adds Jewel. "These types of compliments are very rewarding."
Adam Placeras, Site Supervisor
“I'm privileged and honored that people trust me with their safely and well-being.”
When you ask Adam Placeras what he likes about his job, he's quick to praise his managers. "The district office always supports me," Adam explains. "They make sure I have everything that I need and they are always available."
Adam says he wanted to work for a company that he could grow with and that's exactly what he found. He calls AlliedBarton a 'company of opportunity' and feels that he's treated like family.
Keith Tutsone, Security Officer
“The world changed after 9/11 and I give AlliedBarton an A+ for giving me the training I needed.”
Keith Tutsone has been with AlliedBarton for seven years. He credits AlliedBarton's ongoing training for giving him the confidence to respond to a variety of situations. His philosophy is simple; "whatever it takes to get the job done, I'm there to do it."
When Keith puts on his uniform before going to work, he realizes the significance of what his clothing represents. "When I put on my uniform I realize I have a great deal of responsibility," explains Keith. "There are 1,500 employees at my site and their safety is in AlliedBarton’s hands."
This attitude is one of the reasons he was recently awarded the Officer of the Month.
