An Emphasis on Training

AlliedBarton's commitment to employee training and education is second to none in the security industry. One look at our unique career development and education assistance program and it's obvious why AlliedBarton has been selected as one of Training magazine's top companies for training excellence three years in a row. We have partnered with the University of Phoenix and Colorado Technical University - two accredited institutions to award college credit and discounts to AlliedBarton students who are majoring in criminal justice and other security related degrees for completion of many of our advanced training programs.

The following is a brief overview of the AlliedBarton Academy curriculum:

Security Officer Basic Course (SOBC)

AlliedBarton security officer candidates learn the introductory aspects of their responsibilities during SOBC training. SOBC is normally delivered as an instructor-led classroom course. An online version of SOBC is also available.

Site Orientation and On-the-job Training

The on-the-job training process is site-specific and customized according to the complexity of the worksite. The on-the-job checklist is completed and entered into our online employee database–providing a checkpoint for this important phase of officer training. On-the-job training ranges from basic 8- to 16-hour packages to advanced programs of 40 to 120 hours.

A key factor in an effective career development program is to make training and continuing education courses meaningful and easily accessible to employees. With www.AlliedBartonAcademy.com, our unique online career center, AlliedBarton makes pertinent and timely courses and activities available to employees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A majority of AlliedBarton's employees voluntarily participate in continuing education.

Operations University

Operations University is an intensive, interactive three-day classroom workshop designed for AlliedBarton account managers. The purpose of Operations University is to shape proficient managers with a smart business sense. The class is conducted by division training directors in conjunction with seasoned managers and executives to pass on real-life experiences in the process.

PRISM

Professionalism In Security Management (PRISM) is a blended-learning curriculum featuring classroom training, web-based training and self-study books. It is specifically designed for AlliedBarton account managers, area managers and district managers. PRISM comprises five levels of training, each of which includes rewards and incentives. All PRISM graduates receive AlliedBarton's CPSM certification. PRISM Benefits – PRISM is designed to enhance the professional and personal development of AlliedBarton managers, which directly leads to benefiting our clients in the form of reduced turnover, higher account standards and stronger relationships with AlliedBarton management.

Supervisor's Workshop

This one-day, classroom-based course is designed to help prepare first-time site or shift supervisors and managers for the challenges of leadership. This workshop is mandatory for all hourly site and shift supervisors and is to be completed within their first 60 days on the job.

Recruitment Community Basic Course (RCBC)

This three-hour, web-based course is designed to help instruct support employees in the basics of recruiting quality talent. This program is mandatory for all recruiters and recruiting managers and is to be completed within their first 60 days on the job. Successful completion of this course and continued recruitment professional development activities lead to an official recruitment certification (CABR).

Leadership Boot Camp

This four day conference is designed for our district managers, vice presidents and human resource directors to learn to engage and retain their employees. Part of the curriculum consists of talent planning, situational leadership, principals of execution, leaders teaching leaders and people management / human capital practices and techniques.

Leadership On-Ramp and L-Cubed Programs

This program is designed for our district managers and vice presidents to provide new manager on-boarding and on-going support, mentorship and training in people management, career development and operational leadership strategies and tactics.

Master Security Officer (MSO) Program

The MSO program encourages professional development with courses that go beyond initial training processes. The curriculum consists of 20 training modules covering various topics important to AlliedBarton, our clients and the security industry in general. These courses are available as booklets and online at www.AlliedBartonAcademy.com. Employees work through the levels as they become more tenured at AlliedBarton, earning recognition and awards along the way. Upon completion, employees receive the coveted AlliedBarton Master Security Officer (MSO) designation.

LEAP

Learning that Emphasizes Assistance and Preparation (LEAP) Refresher Training – The key to effective learning and long-term performance excellence is the reinforcement of initial training by way of an effective, structured process. Through LEAP, local management, district management and regional training staff continually deliver a number of companywide training modules, as well as programs customized to meet specific market or client needs. AlliedBarton's standard for refresher training is four hours per employee per year.
